Sleepless Nights

I don't even remember being up as much last night as I was when little guy just came home from the hospital.  Up until we left the hospital with my son, I swear, he barely made a peep.  My husband was talking to his father and stated, "he is just sooo good, he doesn't cry, he mostly sleeps and eats."  Boy, were we wrong.  We obviously had no clue what the next few weeks would feel like.  The first night our son woke up crying, we cried because we just didn't know how to get him to sleep, or stop crying for that matter.

Well, last night brought back memories.  I come home from food shopping at 8 pm because little guy wasn't doing much to help the situation during the day and hubby says that it's been an hour and a half and he still hasn't gone to sleep.  I think that he was up 3 more times before I even got into bed and then just about every hour.  I have to give him some credit he did sleep in 30 minutes until 7 o clock when my husband had to take a shower...not nearly enough time for me to get some shut eye from last night.  I am crying inside right now at how tired I am.  I am not going to even bother hoping for two naps today, instead I will go about my day and pray that the afternoon nap gives me some relief.  Hope you all had a better night than I did!

  1. We are going through a strange bout of non-sleep ourselves. I don't know why the little guy is not sleeping through the night anymore. Bad dreams? Not sure, but coffee has become my new BFF cold or not. I feel your pain!

  2. I'm there too... How old is he? It could be a growth spurt or teething. Hope he sleeps better for you!

  3. Oh! Katrina, maybe it is a growth spurt! He's been growing like crazy! I never even thought of that! It can't be teeting because he only has four more to go and that shouldn't be for a while. Hope you both get some relief as well!

  10. I'm a new follower from Friday Follow!

I had to laugh when I read the beginning of your post about how all newborns do is eat and sleep. It's true! My babies never gave me any trouble for the first week or so - I didn't sleep much because they had to eat all the time, but I actually thought they were kind of boring! hehehe If I knew then what I know now!

Hang in there - this will pass, too...I know how tough it is when you don't get enough sleep, though!
